Job Discovery and Matching with PathPilot

Introduction

PathPilot helps you find relevant job opportunities quickly. This guide will walk you through how to use PathPilot to discover and match jobs based on your preferences, skills, and experience.


Method 1: Chat-Based Job Search

  1. Starting a Chat:

    • Navigate to the main PathPilot interface.

    • Locate the chat input box at the bottom of the screen.

  2. Initiating a Job Search:

    • Type specific keywords about the type of job you're looking for. Include details like the position title, location, and any other specific requirements.

    • For Example: "I am looking for AI engineer roles in Toronto".

  3. Reviewing Job Matches:

    • PathPilot will analyze your request and return a list of relevant job postings.

  4. Viewing Job Details:

    • Click on a job posting from the list to view detailed information.

    • The job detail will include a summary of the job, a list of key skills, and a “fit score” based on your skills and experience.

    • The “fit assessment” will list the reasons it aligns well with your job preferences based on your skills, experience, education, work environment, and income expectations.

  5. Job Actions:

    • You will be given options to perform different actions such as

      • Customize your resume for the job.

      • Create a cover letter for this job.

      • Start a mock interview for this job.

      • Recommend skills you should develop to apply for this job

  6. Saving Job Postings:

    • To save a job, locate the heart icon in the upper-right corner or the “Save” button at the bottom of the job details page.

    • Saved jobs are stored within the “Saved Jobs” menu in the sidebar


Method 2: Using the Job Matching Prompt

  1. Access the Main Interface:

    • Ensure you are at the main PathPilot screen, where the main feature buttons are displayed.

  2. Select "Job Matching":

    • Click the “Job Matching” option which is located on the left.

  3. Initiating Job Search:

    • You will be given several options for finding a job, such as:

      • Provide me with a list of jobs based on my resume and job preferences

      • Provide me with a list of jobs for a specific role or position

      • Only show jobs I haven’t viewed before

      • Provide me with advice on the types of jobs I should be looking for based on my skills and experience.

    • Select the desired option. You can select from the prompted options, or type in your custom search.

  4. Review the Job Matches:

    • The system will display a list of job matches based on your selected prompt, and the parameters you entered.

  5. Saving Jobs:

    • Follow the same procedures as in Method 1 to save job postings


Method 3: Job Recommendations and Skill Recommendations

  1. Start from Job Details:
    * Once you have viewed a job you like, and clicked through to the detailed job page, you can perform several different actions as mentioned above.

  2. Skill Recommendation:
    * Select “Recommend skills I should develop to apply to this job”.
    * PathPilot will analyze your resume and identify any gaps between your skill set and those required for the job.
    * PathPilot will also suggest courses and resources to help you improve on these areas.

  3. Saving Recommended Resources:

    • Save these resources by clicking the heart icon associated with each recommendation. These will be stored in the saved resources folder within the left navigation.


Method 4: Tailor Resume Based On Jobs

  1. Start from Job Details:

    • As above, start by clicking through to a detailed job page.

  2. Select Customize Resume:

    • Select the “Customize my resume for this job” option.

  3. View Customized Resume:

    • PathPilot will automatically customize your resume for the particular job.

  4. Additional Edits:

  • Click on the “Edit” button to manually make edits to your resume.

  1. Save Your Resume:

  • Click the “Save” button to save the tailored version of your resume. The resume is stored in your “Saved Resumes” folder within the sidebar.


Key Features and Options

  • Side Navigation: Allows you to access “Chat History”, “Saved Jobs”, “Saved Resources”, “Saved Resumes”, “Saved Cover Letters” and “Saved Interviews”

  • Conversation: You can ask the AI any questions you want throughout the process, and it will respond based on the information you’ve provided.

  • AI-Powered Matching: PathPilot uses AI to ensure the job matches are relevant to your preferences and skills.

  • Personalized Job Summary: Provides a quick overview of the job, and its fit to your profile.

  • Suggested Actions: Each job and skill recommendation has suggested actions you can take, to streamline the job application process
